Co. operates in the chemicals industry through its noncontrolling interest in Kronos Worldwide, Inc. (Kronos). Through CompX, Co. manufactures mechanical and electrical cabinet locks and other locking mechanisms used in a variety of applications including ignition systems, mailboxes, file cabinets, desk drawers, tool storage cabinets, electronic circuit panels, storage compartments, and gas station security. Kronos is a producer and marketer of titanium dioxide pigments, a base industrial product used in a range of applications.
