This morning, Safeway (SWY) declared its quarterly dividend of 23 cents per share, maintaining the amount paid to shareholders the prior quarter. Based on the current stock price, investors can expect a yield of about 2.7% going forward. Shares of Safeway were modestly higher on the news.
In other dividend news, Home Depot (HD) maintained its quarterly dividend of 47 cents per share. And Waste Management (WM) maintained its quarterly dividend of 37.5 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, the Altria Group (MO) announced its quarterly dividend of 52 cents per share, an increase of about 8% over its prior dividend. And Williams Companies (WMB) announced its quarterly dividend of 56 cents per share, an increase of about 32% over its prior dividend.
